Shiny Ninetales And Vulpix

It reminds me of the color and temperature of flames(and stars). A normal vulpix is orange/red which is the lower flame temps and Ninetales is yellow/cream with a little orange which resembles higher flame temps.
A shiny Vulpix is yellow and orange which is hotter than orange and red and the shiny version of ninetales is silver/white with blue-tipped tails and blue and white are the hottest temps - immeasurably, unimaginably hot.
